The Exam Legend: The Videogame was created in 2018 for my 2D Design class. It was developed using the platform Gamesonomy. However, recent changes to the platform resulted in the disappearance of the game.
The Exam Legend: The Videogame features Lonk, a videogame student that has been partying all night long, the day before an exam. When he wakes up in the middle of the street, at 6am, he realizes he must run to get to his exam on time.

In the first level, Lonk must run through the street avoiding obstacles while passing by the bars and discotheques he visited the night before. To finish the level and pass his exam, he must pick up the math notes scattered throughout the city. By finding the secret pathway, Lonk can reach the golden math notes, which will take him immediately to the next level.

In the second level, Lonk realizes he still has to finish his art project, for he must gather all the drawings that lay around in his classroom. By finding the golden drawing, he will finish the project immediately, thus finishing the game.
Lonk was created as a stereotype videogame student, with a semi-angry expression, hair dyed pink and dark clothes. I created a very basic a spritesheet for Lonk's animations, since I decided not to implement facial movements. This way, I had idle, running, jumping and crawling animations.

For the streets and the university I took inspiration on my surroundings at the moment I was developing the game, so I based it in Castellón (Spain) and the University Jaume I. Therefore, the bars and discotheques that appear in the game are real and they are found in this city. Although the design varies a bit I tried to be as accurate to reality as possible. On the other hand, I made the obstacles according to the stage: puddles, coffee cups and trash. Finally, the cat that appears in the first level is based upon a real cat.

The classroom form the second level was created according to the classrooms that the university had when I attended that school. After a thorough investigation of pictures, drawings and the real life classrooms, I managed to reproduce them almost exactly.

Along the game you can also find several easter eggs that are only known by some of the promotions that used to study at the same time I was studying there.
