ZARZA
Zarza is a short movie that was produced by Capibara Team for the animation project of the second year of Digital Creation, Animation and Videogames career in the University of A Coruña, during the course 2021-22. The produced excerpt is just the beginning of an 8 minute short movie.
MY WORK
My work in this short movie expands throughout many departments. During the whole production, I worked in the bible department where we wrote about the short movie as if we were going to present it to other producers. In the beginning, I worked with the art department looking for references, creating concept art and drawing the first iteration of the storyboard and animatic.

After this, I started with the modeling of the main character, Zarza. I did the blockout of the fox so my colleagues could take it from there and finish the high poly model. When all high poly models where finished, I retouched all of them, fixing all major problems with the mesh. I also redid the ears and UVs in all the models.

Still in the modeling department, I modeled and unwrapped some of the assets for the stage: a couple of potted plants, an assortment of candles and a broom.

After the modeling of the characters was finished, I started rigging Zarza since I was head of the rigging department and in charge of rigging all four foxes.
For Zarza, I did the rigging of the whole body, with IK and FK and bending systems. I also did an IK system for the mouth and an eye movement control.
For the rest of the foxes, I copied the entire rigging system and adjusted it to fit their bodies. I eliminated the more complex systems since they were only going to be used for the 3D animatic and not for the final production.
During postproduction, I helped the composite department with the mounting of some of the scenes in DaVinci. After that, I also worked on the colouring of some of the scenes, like for example the one that shows the title of the short movie, among others.
